Professional Experience:


Kinder and Associates - July, 1988 to Present

Served as consultant responsible for providing automated health insurance claims processing systems and consulting services to HMOs, Insurance Companies, and self-administered employers. Also provided expert witness and technical consulting services to the Dallas legal community.


ARC Health Services, Inc. and Synergy Health Systems - October, 1984 to June, 1988

Served as Vice President of Finance for ARC Health Services (1984-1985). Served as President, Executive Vice President, and cofounder of Synergy Health Systems. Responsible for the acquisition of ARC Health Services and redesign of ARCs data processing systems. Instrumental in obtaining $2,250,000 of venture capital. Responsible for the development and implementation of Synergy’s planning and marketing programs. Coordinated the merger of Synergy with Medaphis to form HealthServe Corporation during 1987.


ComputerLand of Dallas and Fort Worth - August, 1979 to August, 1984

Cofounder, Vice President, and General Manager. Planned and directed growth of the company from one store and $130,000 sales in 1979, to six stores and $29,000,000 sales in 1984. Served on Dealer Advisory Committees for IBM, Compaq, ITT, Texas Instruments, and Hewlett Packard. Elected to the following ComputerLand Committees by US franchisees: Hardware Products, Software Products, Store Standards, Hardware Negotiations, and Advertising. Organizational awards: Apple - Best US Retail Computer Store, 1980. IBM, Top 10 Dealers, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984. Future Computing, Top 10 Retail Computer Stores, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984.


Control Data Corporation - May, 1977 to August, 1979

Served as Director of Product Planning and Development for IBM compatible software and services. Responsible for development or acquisition of new business units within CDC Services. Instrumental in creating the Benefits Services Division within CDC. Coordinated software development projects between the Control Data Development Laboratory and the Service Bureau Company, Off Track Betting, Arbitron, Bedford Data Systems, and other CDC subsidiaries. Performed numerous due diligence activities for potential CDC acquisitions.


Systems Resources, Inc. (Control Data Corporation) - April, 1972 to May, 1977

Served as Account Manager for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, responsible for facilities management of the Medicare Data Processing Facility. Served as Project Manager for the installation of the Medicare Part B System in 32 locations for the state of Washington. Served as Branch Manager for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Utah, responsible for all data processing facilities and personnel. Served as Director of Product Development for Health Insurance Applications for the Control Data Development Laboratory in Campbell, California. Responsible for installation of CDC’s Health Insurance Claims Processing systems in Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Wyoming, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Southern West Virginia, and Blue Cross of Montana.


Electronic Data Systems Corporation - August, 1969 to April, 1972

Served as Project Manager for Regular Business Claims at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas. Served as Project Leader and principal designer of the EDS Regular Business System. Served as Project Leader for the installation of EDS’s Regular Business System at Blue Shield of Northern California, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, Blue Shield of Pennsylvania, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts.


United States Marine Corps - February, 1965 to August, 1969

Served as Senior Programmer/Analyst, responsible for the development and installation of the Marine Corps Unified Material Management System at Marine Corps Bases worldwide. Served as Project Manager for the development and installation of the Joint Uniformed Military Pay System at the Marine Corps Automated Services Center at Kansas City, Missouri.


Education:


United States Armed Forces Institute - August, 1968

Successful completion of the General Examinations of the College-level Examination Program, with the equivalent of 134 credit hours.


University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri - August, 1963 to February, 1965

Majored in Industrial and Electrical Engineering, no degree earned. Enlisted in Marine Corps upon expanded US involvement in Viet Nam.
